The Duke of Bridgewater’s Canal comes down from the Duke’s coal mines at Worsley to Manchester, then passes by Manchester United’s Stadium and through Stretford. This picture (taken from some distance with a camera phone) shows a barge making its stately progress towards the Metrolink stop on Edge Lane, with the white superstructure of the football stadium on the horizon.
